March 25, 2017

St John Cathedral, 413 Cumberland Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee USA

Event Web Site:

First ever GB Ensemble in USA!!!

The Gavin Bryars Ensemble will give an ensemble concert, featuring one of its acoustic formats – 2 singers (Peyee Chen, soprano; Chris O’Gorman, tenor) and five instruments (Nick Barr and Morgan Goff, violas; Nick Cooper, cello; James Woodrow, electric and acoustic guitars; Gavin Bryars, bass).

Curiously enough, this will be the first time since its inception many years ago that the Gavin Bryars Ensemble has performed in USA, thanks to the festival’s director Ashley Capp. This information was sufficient to cause Rolling Stone Magazine to feature the news on its front page on October 5 2016…
