London performance of Jesus’ Blood… plus other choral works

Addison Singers +GB Ensemble

Within the context of the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music, the Addison Singers, directed by Gavin’s old friend David Wordsworth, will perform a programme comprising Psalm settings, as well as Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet in a special version for choir and ensemble. In addition there will be two solo Laude, sung by Gavin’s daughter Orlanda Bryars (who also sings with the choir) as well as a couple of instrumental pieces including the organ work A Time and a Place written for Gavin’s mother’s funeral in 1999.

Some of the performances are very new and in some cases either London or World premieres – Psalm 126, for choir and jazz bass written for the birth of Brian Morton’s son John (Gavin’s godson) is a World premiere.

Psalm 132  (SATB, organ & trumpet) London premiere                

Lauda 29 “O divina virgo, flore” solo voice, plus bass

A Time & A Place, organ solo (UK Premiere)

Lauda 4  “Oi me lasso” solo voice, ensemble

Psalm 126 SATB & double bass (with the composer on bass) world premiere                

St Brendon arrives at the Promised Land of the Saints (SATB, violin & organ) London  premiere
