nat’è ‘l nostro salvatore. our Saviour is born.
Nat’è glorioso, The glorious one is born,
l’alto Dio maravellioso; the mighty and marvellous God;
fact’è homo desideroso the kind Creator
lo benigno creatore. has become the man He loves.
Gloria ‘n cielo e pace ‘n terra, Glory in heaven and peace on earth:
nat’è ‘l nostro salvatore. our Saviour is born.
Pace’n terra sia cantata; May peace on earth be sung;
gloria’n cielo desiderata; may glory in heaven be desired;
la donçella consecrata the holy maiden
