As part of “f r a g m e n t s : The Waste Land 2022 – A Celebration” the Gavin Bryars Ensemble will perform Jesus’ Blood… twice: at 11.00am-11.50, and from 12:30-1:20pm in St. Katherine Cree Church, London on Sunday April 10. It is part of a festival that celebrates the centenary of T S Eliot’s poem, which will take place in a number of locations in the City of London between April 7-10. Other confirmed events include:

The Waste Land – A Filmed Reading with 5 actors – All Hallows at the Tower Crypt
The whole project has been commissioned by the T S Eliot Estate, and is curated by DoranBrowne, Arts Imagineers
The Gavin Bryars Ensemble worked with Sean Doran at the Happy Days (Samuel Beckett) Festival in Enniskillen, 2014, a visit that included parts of the Beckett Songbook and a version of Jesus’ Blood, with the addition of Irish guest players.
Both Purcell and Handel played the organ in St. Katherine Cree Church and this may be used in the performance, and possibly some of the six church bells…
