The first edition of the Sound Biennial, which aims to highlight the growing importance of sound in contemporary art, is taking shape. It is a major event, which aims to represent the diversity of the Artists who interpret sound in contemporary art, will held in the heart of the Valais (Switzerland) in autumn 2023.
Over 70 artists and musicians have been invited to take part in this inter- national event on art and sound.
-18 venues in 5 towns and villages in central Valais;
-Over 20 performances and concerts during the 6-week Biennial
As part of this first festival, members of the Gavin Bryars ensemble, along with Swiss musicians, will perform a 65 minute version of The Sinking of the Titanic. The GB Ensemble musicians are Roger Heaton, James Woodrow, Gavin Bryars, Yuri Bryars and Bob Burnell (sound)
