We Are Children (We Make Sound)
This performance celebrates the launch of the long-awaited recording of Burroughs, composed for We Are Children (We Make Sound) by Gavin Bryars and premiered at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall in 2014.
Formed in 2011 at ICMP, the collective emerged from composition classes under Audrey Riley, evolving as a fluid, experimental ensemble that meets to explore member-led works and collaborative processes. Originally devised with Richard Strange and supported by Arts Council England and PRS, Burroughs was recorded across sessions from 2015–2018 before activities paused during the pandemic.
For this album launch in Chiswick, the group returns alongside guests James Woodrow, Bradley Grant, Guy Passey, Yuri Bryars, and Gavin Bryars himself.
